Galaxies

Deep Space

Galaxies are island universes in their own right, containing billions of stars. The distances to these objects are difficult to comprehend and it is all too easy to forget this when looking at the images themselves. We see galaxies as they were in the distant past, the equivalent amount of time as they are distant in light years. The light from the nearest galaxies to our own Milky Way started its journey long before modern humans took their first steps on our planet!!

Images are displayed most recent at the top.
